Kevin Young has a lot of excellent qualities as a coach to be excited about:

* Multiple head coaching experiences in the NBA developmental league for 6+ years
* Current and recent Head Coach candidate for multiple NBA teams
* NBA assistant coaching experience with the Philadephia 76ers - he's been coaching Joel Embiid, etc.
* NBA assistant coaching experience with the Phoenix Suns - he's been coaching Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal, Devin Booker - others Suns stars

Look, Mark Pope played in the NBA. Kevin Young has been coaching the best basketball players in the world in the NBA. Embiid. Durant. Booker. These guys are all on his cell phone contact list. He is known and respected across the NBA world and beyond.

He's a solid LDS guy. Yada yada. He ticks those boxes. He gets the area - early coaching job was at Utah Valley, of all places. He's lived in the Valley!

I could go on - but, this would be a good hire if he gets the position. Lots of positives about Kevin Young, just not as well known in our BYU circle.
