On CB, someone said this puts Sitake on notice that BYU is willing to pay big bucks for good coaches who show results.
Then, listening to Jake Hatch's 'Locked on Cougars' Podcast, he said that this kind of large contract may embolden Sitake to reach out and ask for more money.
So which is it?
In my opinion, using this as leverage for Sitake to ask for more money hadn't even crossed my mind because football hasn't produced good results on a consistent enough basis for Sitake to demand anything. On the other hand, Jake Hatch is dialed in and knows his stuff. Is he seeing something I'm not here? Because I don't think Sitake has any leverage at all.
