PCT Paradise Valley to I-10
Just crossed mile 200 today and back up to averaging about 20 miles per day. Was able to attend church in Idyllwild on Sunday. I had to take a 30-mile Block Mountain detour around 20 miles of trail that goes up and over Mt San Jacinto because of still too much snow. The Black Mountain alternate that I took had plenty of snow as well.
Hiking off Mt San Jacinto into the Palm Springs area had more lizards than any place I've seen (and I live in NM). They were like cockroaches scurrying out from under my feet with every step.
From the I-10 bridge I was able to catch a ride into Cabezon for an In and Out Burger. Amazing how little things like that can give you a lift. Back on trail now.

Does the PCT go up the Whitewater River Valley after you cross I-10 or does it get past San Gorgonio another way?
