They were most likely just interviewing him (required for such a position) in their capacities as members of the Board of Trustees.

They may have done some light selling too at some point, but it certainly wasn’t the main purpose of their communications imo.

It isn’t like Brother Young got extended a calling.

I assume most of you probably are thinking the same thing but in the linked source it sounds like their main role was as sales people “seal[ing] the deal.” I doubt that very much.
