I mean, I understand why HE would do it - especially with what has been said about his family thinking he's one and done. That said, he's coming back off a mission. He's not 7'6". He's going to need a year to get back into shape and learn the system/how to play with higher ranked recruits. I think he's in for a rude awakening and the Kentucky fans will not be patient with him as he gets back into playing shape. Just my thoughts on the kid.
I am surprised that Pope would want him at Kentucky, given that he won't be in playing shape to begin. Pope has to know that he won't be on his A game for a year or so.
I don't know the kid and so my speculation isn't worth beans, but he seems kind of deluded about the reality of his situation and seems kinda wishy washy (that applies to most high school and college athletes in this transfer portal world) and already seems like someone who will look to move if he doesn't get what he wants.
My guess is that he transfers after a year at Kentucky, maybe. The grass isn't always greener and such.
