the public square that you disagree with, it must be evil, destroyed and fought as a holy war should be. You protest it, you cancel it, you shame it, you boycott it until it conforms with established (yewt) norms. All in the name of supporting diversity, love, and inclusion.

This is right in the college political playbook so no surprise at all to see some people confuse competitive sports with their political religion.
