For those of us who actually are Coyotes fans, a reason to be confident we will get our team back...
I received some info on Alex Meruelo's thinking (he is the Coyotes owner) and why he is still bidding on the land in Phoenix instead of taking the money from the sale of the team, and it turns out has a lot of motivation to win and get the team back. Apart from the fact that he really wants to have a sports team on a personal level, one of the main reasons I hadn't considered before is that if he does get the team and the arena it clears the way for him to get a sportsbook operating license, which in Arizona is still relatively difficult to get. The financial impact of that alone is huge and makes the amount of money he will spend building a new arena more than worth it.

I'm happy Utah is getting a team, sad that Phoenix is losing one, but now a bit more confident the Coyotes and the kachina sweaters will return.
