I don't disagree that parents need to manage kids, but video game companies
do need to take some responsibility for their addiction-based algorithms and mechanics. Many European countries regulate loot-style "Free-to-Play" games because it was having a deleterious effect on children--addiction, overspending, obsession, etc. There is agitation for broader legislation in the EU.

Ultimately, when companies market to and play off of kids' vulnerability to make a buck (think Joe Camel and smoking), I don't have much sympathy for them or their business practices.
