I think most of the hate comes from the kind of person he is, not his competence. I don't know anyone that says he is a good person, I've met several that, unsolicited, have told me they do not like/respect him (and that is putting it in a CB friendly way).

I don't know the guy, but I know good people who have worked with him, and they can't stand to be around him.
