For any cruise where you're paying less than $100/night/person
You're essentially getting Denny's or Golden Corral at sea when it comes to American staple food.
That said, Royal Caribbean has done a great job of branching out into ethnic foods that set themselves apart from others (at least post-pandemic). We did a Royal cruise to Alaska last summer and their Indian buffet was top notch, crazy good curries.

I think it’s mostly below average. People get caught up by the amount of options and the unlimited quantities
