I think a guy like PK works to develop relationships with the folks in different positions in the AD offices - to the degree that he gets info based on having trust that he won't release the info without their blessing. So they miss the scoop to maintain the relationship.

PK in particular seems to have a pretty good relationship and be on good terms with people both at BYU and Utah.
