Can't control what someone else (Pope in this instance) does.
The only thing you can control is your own actions and response.

For some, as I have expressed, it feels like a waste of time and energy to be upset about it. Being upset doesn't effect Pope at all. He has moved on. So being bugged by his actions only serves to allow us to be bugged. What's the point? I've got enough real stuff to be worried or frustrated about without taking on additional things.

I understand not everyone feels that way. If others want to continue to be bugged by him, that's OK. It just doesn't work for me.

And I say that fully admitting that there are things people do that DO bug me at times and which I am not as quick to give up. But if I can give it up in instances like this, my life is happier.
