With so many players in the portal, there could be a lot of possibilities for next season as to who will join the team under Coach Kevin Young and staff. I'm sure they'll look at many folks but things move quickly. Anyone have favorite possible players or is just all too complex to follow?

It will be interesting to see how things develop because so many players are in the portal, and also because BYU still is a unique place to recruit players to come and develop. I think Coach Young and his staff will of necessity have to still look for "fit" with both the culture there and the program they create. That said, some possibles:

* Dominick Harris - LMU guard, had already expressed interest in the Y and is in the portal - would be a solid pickup, I think.
* Jace Whiting - I had hoped he might come as a developmental point guard behind Hall (if we get Hall back), but just committed to UNLV - Barrett Peery and coaches doing work there.
* Keanu Dawes - Came into the portal from Rice, has LDS/BYU ties (Derek Dawes), but already committed to Utah - maybe he'd open that back up and look at the Y if Burgess comes. Would be a nice, developing interior piece.
* Max Shulga - Three-year player at Utah State, very solid shooting guard, now in the portal from VCU. Would be a one-year rental but good offensive player.
* Great Osobor - Osobor is probably a pipe dream, and maybe will follow his coach, but Pope and others are hard after him. Has been in the region and is in the portal from Utah State. Great player, power forward but can shoot and drive pretty well.
* Handje Tamba - 7-footer who played this last year at Weber State. Has size, who knows? Started out at Tennessee and is from Knoxville, 3-star rating when he first hit college (came out early). Originally from Congo. No shiny stats, but provides size.
* Mason Falslev - Shooting guard from Weber State, really good athlete. Looks like he's still in the portal (or On3 hasn't updated). RM, still multiple years to play.
* Ian Martinez - Great guard for Utah State, has played both there and Utah - really good numbers this past season. Is in the portal.
* Brody Kozlowski - The 6'7" guard is a great shooter - would be nice to see him develop in a Young system. We're in the top 5!
* Mady Sissoko - The big center played at Wasatch Academy - still looking for a home since he's in the portal from Michigan State. Knows BYU players.

Just a smattering. Lots of others out there, but, will be interesting to see who we can get that is a good fit in all respects. I think BYU's team this past season showed that a solid core of good players that play as a team can do great things - it's interesting to look around and see that there are a lot of pretty solid players out there that could fit at BYU.
