It is a risk on asset dependent on liquidity, but can be long-term hedge
If you are willing to hold for at least 3-5 years, it is highly likely you will appreciate against the dollar. Not hard to do when dollar purchase power will drop by 15-20% in that same time frame and Bitcoin supply is fixed.
