If it was Dyson Daniels I get it being a downgrade…but Jones/Murphy as the 4th guy in a Garland/Ingram/Mobley lineup is pretty good and makes more sense.

You’re trusting Mobley to develop more, but his offense works better at the 5. He’s an elite defender at the 4 and should be able to handle the 5 in time. You may need to give him more size though and replace Strus in the lineup.

Why don’t you like Garland?

He’s small, but he’s a great pull-up threat and a high level playmaker. Mitchell is obviously the bigger scoring threat, but he's significantly behind as a playmaker.

I do think there’s a case for going the other direction and building around Mitchell instead of Garland, but you gotta convince Mitchell to stay.

You could do a similar trade..Garland/Mobley for Ingram/Murphy.

Mitchell/Strus/Murphy/Ingram/Allen

Garland/Daniels/Jones/Zion/Mobley.
