Instance. When the head guy from cougar connect came on cougar board and said he knew for a fact that reports about a certain player leaving were false I knew with 100% certainty that his information was wrong.
Then the next day the we learn that new developments transpired to lead to what many people already knew which is that he was leaving.
I had been given information A few days before that that this player would not be back, and at best (for player)it was a mutual agreement.
Let me give you an example. Let’s say that pulp sits down with a highly sought after recruit who comes to Provo and it becomes clear it’s not going to work out.
Postseason meetings Let’s just say that the individual was encouraged to find a better fit… Well, that player is not going to go to cougar connect and say I’ve been asked to find a better fit. He’s going to tell that guy what he wants him to say, which is something along the line of I’ve made the tough decision relocate for the reasons of XYZ but I’m grateful for my opportunity here.
Insider information coming in that type of exchange is more like mis-information.
It’s just whatever info the players give. That’s what you get when you things are framed by what the players want you to know and not what’s really happening.
For instance, coug connect would have a wildly different take on a situation if Nick Emery was the student athlete feeding them information versus if it was coming from the coach or the athletic department.
NOW to be fair there is plenty of good insider information that can be gleaned from the players but in certain things it’s a very biased source.
