Would this be an example of micromanagement? Even BOD simply makes a CEO choice and lets him go. He'll work it out.
Then, if the CEO does something the Board doesn't like, they weigh in.
If it happens too often or is strategically critical enough, they get a new CEO.
BYU hired a fantastic Head Coach. Let him do his job. If he asks for assistance or advise, everyone who cares will there for him.
That aside, stay out of his way.
Objectives are longer term. Would like to have another good season next year and build the program into a perennial top 20 program over time. That would be amazing, and I think we're going to get that.
