I keep seeing people say that Caitlin Clark jerseys outsold the entire Cowboys
teams from last season. I am calling bunkum on those numbers.

The NFL sold $2B in jerseys. They range from $100-$250, but for the sake of giving Caitlin Clark the benefit of the doubt, let's say they are $250. This means that even if all teams were equal, then the Dallas Cowboys would have sold $2B/$250/32teams = 250k jerseys. Given that the Cowboys had 3 of the top 10 player's jerseys sold and they are a popular team, they likely had more than the per team average.

For reference, the WNBA had its highest total attendance numbers last year at 1.587M. That is likely including season ticket holders and people who went to multiple games. The WNBA had 36 million unique viewers in 2023.

I find it hard to believe that more than 15% of WNBA attendees and about 1% of all WNBA watchers bought a Caitlin Clark jersey. I am open to being proven wrong, but no one is providing where they got their numbers from and I will remain extremely skeptical until some solid numbers are provided.
