Obviously this isn’t apples to apples but I was just curious of how a possible BYU NIL deal might compare to Jamie Dimon, CEO of JP Morgan.
In 2023, Dimon’s comp package was $36 million vs company revenue of $150 billion. That is 2/100ths of 1% of the revenue of the company.
What is BYU’s athletic revenue? I will use $100 million, which is likely high.
Take a $200k NIL deal for an athlete. That is 2/10ths of 1% of the revenue. So a $200k NIL deal is 10x the comp Dimon gets as a % of revenue.
Again, I know this isn’t a perfect comparison but it seems to show things are a bit out of whack.
