The Future of BYU Basketball
No one should fault our former coach for taking the Kentucky job. He played there and it was his dream job. However, the way he left was unfortunate. BYU gave him a great opportunity to coach at BYU but he he performed above average. His time in the WCC was not stellar and he probably should have been let go after his 4th year as our coach. He under performed in a lower tier conference WCC.

This past season, he performed better than many expected. His stock was probably as high as it was going to get, the stars aligned with other more experienced and successful coaches turning down KY so he left. One of the worst parts is he is taking some of our best players. If Hall and Saunders leave, it will hurt our program. However, I'm confident that Coach Young will rebuild our team going forward. With his skill set as an offensive coach and his NBA connections the ceiling for BYU program going forward is high.

So the sky is not falling! We'll take some lumps and next year may not be as good but the future is bright.
