I’ve avoided discussing this at length, but I couldn’t help but feel that Coach Young looked and even sounded exhausted at the press conference.

At that time, he had just went through a whirlwind hiring process where he had to weigh coaching at BYU vs the NBA, and the implications of those jobs in the present and in the future for him and his family. The amount of phone calls and interviews in 48 hours he must’ve taken makes me sick to even think about.

Now, things may be even busier. He’s currently performing two coaching jobs at elite levels that require an immense amount of care and focus.

Yet less than a week after being named the head coach- with no named assistant coaches, I might add- he just landed a top 3 player in the state and top 25 player at his position.

I hope Coach Young feels like a god right now, because he should.
