Thrash reigns supreme, but gave birth to Lamb of God.
My absolute favorites will always be Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, Exodus, and Testament. Nothing better than thrash.
Slipknot, Lamb of God, and Pantera are all groove metal, but you can hear the thrash influence.
