To an extent you may have a point. I am a Knights Fan through and through and perhaps it could be viewed that I was defending their use of the LTIR. HOWEVER, nothing they are doing is against the established rules and policies of the league. Even so, there are a faction of the hockey world that outright accuse the knights as cheaters and undeserving of being Stanley Cup Champs.

You will not convince me the article I posted has no correlation to what we are discussing. It even cites “penalties”
levied for teams that over spent the cap. Regardless of whether it was in the form of bonuses or not. Theses teams knowingly structured a players compensation with the ability to earn a bonus. To me that is more of an issue than a team using LTIR to free up space to acquire additional assets.
