A lot of very capable HCs serve long careers as top-flight assistants before they finally get their shot at HC. If Fueger wants to land a job as the HC at a power program — I think he's best served to stick with Pope for now, rather than throw his name into the ring for a low-end D1 HC position — or an HC gig lower still than that.
