I appreciate allowing the public to give input.

But if I was him I wouldn't let the public pick the name. I mean - I'd still do the surveys and voting to get public input. And I certainly wouldn't pick the least popular name being voted on. But I'd use surveys to make sure the one I wanted wasn't the least favorite and then just tell everyone that the one I liked best was the winner.
