Curious what we'll see different from KY with our offense. Hoping to see...
...us build in some better balance in the offense than we had last season. We need to find more offense where we can grind out buckets, get to the rim and change the flow of a game when we're cold from outside, teams are pushing us on the perimeter and shots aren't dropping.

We did some good things last year tweaking half court sets geared to feature assets we had on the court, like when we had Fouss in at the 5 vs Khalifa. Fouss showed some nice ability in the PNR when defenses were switching (BYU saw a lot of this) to quickly get a post pin on the mis-match. He needs to continue to work on this aspect of his game though. Duquesne was really quick at recognizing this and bringing help and Fouss was slow in reading that and reacting correctly.

Would also love to see BYU develop a guard post-up set maybe if Dallin returns or with Dawson Baker (or find a tough, crafty guard in the portal) where we clear out a side and let our guard back down their man 1 on 1 into the post and keep our big man (we have Waterman play the 5). We used to do this with Jake Toolson who was really really good with backing his man down and either hand scoring in the post. I remember Portland had a player (Tyler Robertson) who used to abuse our guards with this same thing. It can be disruptive to an opposing defense and a momentum changer. Guards are notoriously terrible post defenders and will either need help (creating an open shooter on the perimeter) or potentially get nailed on some cheap fouls.

NBA does a lot of stuff like this to isolate on a mis-match and try to take advantage of it. Curious to see how good KY is at playing that coaching chess game-within-a-game that you see in the NBA and if he can bring that to BYU.
