I remember when NFL declining ratings was discussed all over media including here on CB.
People mistook that to mean that interest in the NFL was headed toward extinction.

What they missed was that the NFL is still wildly popular.
I remember wasting my time on CB arguing that. People told me that kneeling for the national anthem had killed interest in the NFL. Nope. Some people turned it off, but still more people watched the NFL than they watched anything else on broadcast TV.
