Yes. I, too, was angry and frustrated that what I perceived the trajectory of BYU basketball to be seemed stymied when Pope departed.
However, I've made my peace with it. He gave us what we asked for and what we needed. I believe he was genuine when he said BYU is a special place. But, looking at his path, he reminds me of a lot of people I knew in Med school. Single-minded and driven.
So many posts from the get-go mentioned "well, you know if kentucky ever comes calling, he's gone." I think a portion just believed we'd have more time before that happened.
I wish him the best at Kentucky, unless we are playing them or going up against the same recruit. I hope he looks back at his time at BYU with fondness and appreciation. Now that I've worked through my own issues, that's how I view it.
