I don't see a single QB drafted yesterday who is a surefire franchise QB.
Obviously everybody thinks Williams has the best shot. It's why he was the undisputed first pick. If he was everything he is and stood at least 6-3, I'd move him into the surefire category. As is, he's a little undersized and has already been injury prone in his career.

Jayden Daniels has the height, but he probably needs to bulk up in order to have staying power in the NFL. You never know how bulking up will change a guy.

Drake Maye at 6-4 has all the physical tools so if he was surefire, he'd have gone in the top 2.

We'll have to wait 4 years before we know if Penix is any good. Extremely odd pick for so many reasons.

McCarthy has the tools and height, but if he was surefire he wouldn't have gone 10th.

And then Bo Nix. Probably the biggest reach in the draft. I guess we'll find out if Sean Payton really has an eye for QB talent.

The top 15 NFL passers (in yardage) from the 2023 season:
Tua Tagovailoa - 6'-1"
Jared Goff - 6'-4"
Dak Prescott - 6'-2"
Josh Allen - 6'-5"
Brock Purdy - 6'-1"
Patrick Mahomes - 6'-2"
Jordan Love - 6'-4"
CJ Stroud - 6'-3"
Baker Mayfield - 6'-1"
Trevor Lawrence - 6'-6"
Matthew Stafford - 6'-3"
Derek Carr - 6'-3"
Jalen Hurts - 6'-1"
Lamar Jackson - 6'-2"

Height isn't everything, but it certainly helps.
