No, the racial issues went far deeper and longer in LA
There was one juror, a elderly black man who is on record as stating that he was certain OJ was innocent because he trusted Johnnie Cochran to not defend a guilty man.

Cochran is on record stating that he if he can get one black juror there would not be a guilty verdict. Cochran got 8 black jurors. There was no way that OJ would ever be found guilty. There were a lot of problems, issues and failures in the investigation and prosecution but in the end none of it mattered. Cochran had it in the bag from the beginning and he knew it. He could afford to play fast and loose, he knew the outcome.
