going to a football game for the halftime entertainment and not the football game. I guess it's nice if the fries are really good too, but that's just not the reason.
I honestly like In-N-Out fries better than most chains I can think of, but I also can't really think of a place where I just love the fries. Shake Shack fries are awful. Wendy's, Burger Kind, Sonic, Crown Burger? I'd take IN N Out's fries over all of those, but Crown Burger is at least a close call. Five Guy's fries when done correctly are better than In-N-Out fries, but about half the time I get them they are so over-salted that they are basically inedible (serious quality control issues there), so I would still give the nod to In-N-Out.
McDonalds fries are good most of the time, but that brings me back to my original point about the reason you go to eat there (if you are going to tell me you like a Big Mac more than an animal style double double we will not agree on anything).
I can say that the fries at JCW's are better than In-N-Out fries, which is great if you live in Utah, and the Habit puts out good fries too. In fact, I'd give the nod to the Habit on both their burgers and their fries over In-N-Out, but that only helps you if you are lucky enough to live near one. Also, since the Habit doesn't have a drive through they're not really an equivalent restaurant to In-N-Out.
