You can run with 2 PG’s on the floor. That’s what the better teams do these days
…its’ the continual evolution of the game. The traditional PG role is changing from being the sole facilitator to more of a combo role. To push more transition offense and beat full-court and perimeter pressure designed to slow teams down and take away looks from 3 you need more ball handling in your backcourt and playmaking from other roles, like we saw with Khalifa last year and also from SJ at times. Makes it tougher on defense to key on specific things or try to take things away.

Same thing with 3pt shooting. Having 5 guys on the floor that can play on the perimeter and shoot from distance forces defenses to spread out more and makes it tougher for the D to take things away. This is all in that concept of “positionless basketball”. Getting away from the old school traditions of 1 guy to handle the ball and facilitate, 1 guy to play off of the ball and shoot, one tall guy to play defense and rebound and another to play in the post, etc.
