Yes, they'll take a 5'10 corner with a blazing 40 time but the preference is still there.
With tall, speedy/explosive wide receivers (thank you Randy Moss & Calvin Johnson) being the norm it's understandable why NFL teams want "taller" corners with speed.
Michael Davis has earned a good living because of this.
