Interesting that driving from SLC down to St. George last Thursday, I was driving 85 and this car passed me at what I would guess was about 105-110. 20 miles down the road, a UHP officer has him pulled over.
Coming back yesterday, I had a car, just north of St. George, pass me at probably 100. During my whole 4 hour drive home, I only saw one traffic official with anyone pulled over. It was about 100 miles later and it was that car that had passed me. Moral of the story, don't be stupid enough to exceed 100 mph, high probability they will catch you.
One interesting experience. Driving down to St. George Thursday, just south of Nephi as you begin to climb that hill, about 40% of the time there is an UHP car sitting up there with radar. An 18-wheeler coming down the hill heading north starts flashing their head lights. I was born and raised in Ohio many years ago. We always flashed cars coming toward a hidden traffic official (state, county, or city) after we passed. Somehow that died out. I never knew why, but I haven't seen someone flash a car for that in probably 3 decades. I don't know why it stopped. It was very helpful and slowed me down many a time and it was great to know there was someone up there with radar.
