tactic to get more NIL even if they're not really planning to leave per se. There seems to be several reasons why a player would do it, possibly to simply find out their current market value and maybe what to do in order to increase it. I think it is and will continue to be a lot more common so that when someone enters the portal no one will even bat an eye especially if they aren't getting a lot of playing time or their market value has increased. It's a crazy concept that everyone is a free agent all the time, maybe in the future players will start signing contracts to help end the madness.
