Most will disagree but for mower I still say gas. Electric for blower, trimmer, edger, etc. is good though.
My biggest issue with the electric mowers is the suction... particularly overtime. Gas just creates more suction in my experience. Unless you mulch that will matter. During the fall I prefer to mow up leaves instead of rake. Gas powered gets through that no problem. My electric mowers left a lot behind.
