Yeah, BYU didn't offer him early, but nobody else was either. And at the time we were in the thick of it with Isaac Wilson, Luke Moga, and Maealiuaki Smith who were all more heavily recruited.
People lamenting Hammond are looking back based on what he turned in after he was off the board. He was our 4th or 5th priority for us at QB along with every other school outside of Lubbock. Good for him for getting a ratings bump and playing well as a senior, but let's not pretend he was Tanner McKee borderline 5* with offers from everybody in the country and we completely ignored him.

Yeah... no. Hammonds first 2 offers, sure were Incarnate Word and UTSA, he was offered by Texas Tech like 2 days later
