If music was better in a particular era, then listen to that music. Schools are a shambles? Okay, go ahead and homeschool. Kids used to have more responsibility? Give your children some work. You are not required to consume the culture and products most readily available to you. Nor must you do whatever is generally being done. If it's stupid, decline participation in it.
