seems like he still struggles with his confidence...
...his ability to play on the perimeter and be a threat helps open up the paint and gives space to Fouss in the post and to our wings backcutting for layups.

He had some really good games early on last season, especially in the OOC portion of the schedule. He also had some big games early in Big12 play (double figures in wins vs ISU, Texas and the close loss to Houston) butas you alluded to he seemed to trail off the last half of conference play and in tournament games. He finished the year with only 1 double figure scoring game in the last 10 games.

Really hoping he continues to gain confidence in his game and starts pushing the envelope when his outside shot isn't falling and starts grinding to get to the rim, draw fouls and get some garbage points to augment his 3pt shooting. When I played and my outside shot wasn't falling I didn't lose confidence in it but instead went to work inside around the rim getting a few easy buckets as a way to re-calibrate and then started back looking for open shots on the perimeter. Always worked.

Waterman had a lot of goose egg games and it would be a huge benefit next year to see the goose egg games turn into games where he scrounges out 6-10 pts just through grinding. He seems to have a positive influence on the energy of the team when he's on his game offensively and crashing the boards hard. Almost Richie-esque. 1000% agree he's super important and maybe doesn't realize it.
