There are a ton of great bike brands, but many have pretty low end entry bikes that I’d be nervous to ride off-road. If she just wants an upright hybrid to ride around the neighborhood, it probably doesn’t matter much. If she wants to ride off-road with the hope of getting out on the trails a fair amount (even if she won’t be jumping), then I’d recommend spending more to get decent components. Mtn bikes are ridiculously expensive these days. KSL has a decent selection of used Mtn bikes at a better price point. Canyon makes some nice bikes at a little lower, direct to consumer online sales model. Specialized is great. Giant makes some decent bikes at a lower price point. I tend to like the boutique brands like Ibis and Pivot, but that’s probably a waste of $ if she’s not going to really get into Mtn biking.
