interesting thing with Lanier is...
...how he's developed at No FLa. His 2nd and 3rd years he got decent minutes in their rotation (21 mins and 19.7 mins) and even started some games, and in his 3rd yr shot the ball extremely well, yet he didn't take a lot of shots and wasn't a big focus in their offense. Then his 4th yr (last year) he explodes and takes his offensive game to the next level (increases his scoring by 15 pts a game).

With regards to his shooting pcts he's shown consistent progress season over season which is encouraging and is a 40.7% shooter from 3 for his career. He loves to shoot the 3 ball, took 241 3PA's vs 179 2PA's and is uniquely adept at hitting the 3 or getting to the rim and drawing fouls. He had 108 FTA's which would've easily finished #1 for BYU this past season and he had 241 3PA's which also would've finished #1 for BYU.

His defense isn't great (110.3 DRtg for his career) so coaches would need to work with him to buy in to improving there as well as scheme a little to try to hide him in our scheme.

It would be amazing to get a talent like this even for one season, there were several games last year where down the stretch we needed a guy who could step up and be a go-to guy to get buckets when the game was tight and Lanier would give us that. I'm also hoping to see BYU get a defensive-minded pit-bullish guard/wing who could come in and be a disrupter on-ball defender that we could throw on hot opposing guards to slow them down and get them off their games. If we added a guy like Lanier we would definitely need to find a defensive dawg as well.
