But here is the backstory. A locker room attendant Joey Moss who was with the team for decades had Down’s syndrome. The players loved him and they embraced him as one of their own. He grew up with all of the oiler legends in the locker room. His favorite song was La Bamba and whenever it came on he would go nuts and the players loved it. He died in 2021 so the team in his honor plays La Bamba after a win. Recently a young 8 yr old boy who had brain cancer and eventually died in ‘23 became a player favorite at games. The players invited him into the locker room etc. as he was on his death bed struggling to survive he would watch oiler games and then after a win would post ‘play labamba!’

Anyway so some weird artsy farsty opera people kind of did their thing with it but🤷‍♂️
