because the IP wasn’t as strong as some movies like Star Wars for example. The appeal was not there from the get go, but they really nailed it with that trilogy, especially the 2nd one. Such great emotion in those movies, all highly rated by critics and audience alike.

Hopefully this new one lives up to it. Early Rotten Tomatoes scores do tend to drop after release, but looking good so far.
