A cool feature is if you have your spouse sign up she can transfer the ultimate rewards points to you. Even cooler is if you have chase sapphire reserve, like I do. You just have your wife sign up for Preferred, and then transfer the points to you, then you get the points with the higher reserve buying power ($1100 + value versus $900+)
