Its nothing more than an unfortunate series of events.
Pope leaves.
Davis recommits.
Young is hired.
Young apparently tells Davis that he will honor his scholarship, but doesn't believe he is a good fit in the new system.
Davis is released from his NIL.
Davis commits to USU.
This is a bummer that it didn't work out. It sucks that a kid who was loyal to BYU didn't have a real opportunity here under the new administration. But KY did the most honorable thing in this situation. He was honest with Davis. Although he didn't believe he is a fit in the system, he would still offer him the opportunity. Young could have BSed him into staying knowing he isn't a good fit and probably wouldn't succeed in his system. Seems like a very honest and honorable way of doing business. Am i confused somewhere?
