5A-2 south is ultra competitive and balanced, but the current system is basically set up to minimize the teams that have to play Gorman. Right now the max NV teams that will ever play Gorman is 6 and those 6 are playing for 2nd place.

That means that most HS players in Nevada don't get to play against the best teams and so we don't get a good feel how a player would do at a P4 program unless they play at 5A-1.

There are good points to the system, as weaker teams now have a chance to rebuild instead of just getting beat down every game.
