built in the 80's and beyond EVER would exceed what came before them. I would think it was about the 80's when the materials were beginning to be cheaper and cheaper. The stuff they use to build houses today will make for houses that will struggle mightily to age beyond 40 years--and I think that is a stretch. Maybe it's my age of 66 that I have fully seen the difference. Today, there his hardly anything made of quality.
I purchased a kitchen faucet about 4 years ago. It has a lifetime warranty. I'm now replacing the dag-nabbed thing for the 3rd time in those 4 years. I had paid a little more for what I thought was more quality, but there just isn't. Everything being made in Far East is just junk made to look like the stuff that used to have some quality. It's not lasting. I would think these companies would end making lifetime warranty merchandise, because there is no way someone could make money on a lifetime faucet that his being returned almost every year.
