Hawaii is almost uniformly good; The Caribbean, not so.
Hawaii has US culture combined with Polynesian culture, great beaches, snorkeling and scuba.
The Caribbean has many cultures, so that can be attractive, but some of the places are "meh", and some are not so safe.
