Marquis de Lafayette is arguably the most important figure in US History...
and he's French. His title "The hero of the Two Worlds" in meritted.

He professionalized the Continental Army and was vital in our success militaristically.

Their expansion and eventual sell of large swaths of North America helped us immensely as a young country.

There are a lot of jokes about the French being weak or giving them a hard time about surrendering to the Germans, but you'll never hear them from me.

Napolean took on all of Europe and came pretty dang close to winning. The French flossed their teeth with razor wire for years in WW1 and lost an entire generation of men, but never capitulated. Their surrender to the Germans in WW2 was inevitable. The French Free Army under de Gaulle did they the best they could, considering the circumstances.

The French Army in its current state is pretty awesome. Their counter terrorism teams are top notch. Their work across the Sahel and the Levant isn't talked about enough. France hates I$1S probably more than any other country. A lot of French nationals joined 1SI$ and in modest terms, France did not like that haha.

So, as for me and my house, Vive La France!
