They do have issues with illegal immigration from Haiti which does make some visible poverty and social issues. It is much better off than most of the Caribbean (especially the independent countries), but is a pretty boring place if you want to do anything else besides spend time at the beach or in the water (i.e. diving or snorkeling). The country is set of very small thin sand bars that barely poke above the surface. It only has a population 44k (about half the size of the Mississippi town I live in) and with no arable land everything is shipped in (hence the prices). Grand Cayman is similar both size, geography and government (also a UK Territory), but is not as close to the western hemisphere's poorest country.
